Hanna + Ryan
In the heart of the Jefferson National Forest, the Breaks Interstate Park is a bi-state state park located partly in southeastern Kentucky and mostly in southwestern Virginia, at the northeastern terminus of Pine Mountain. Hanna and Ryan decided to tie the knot in this gorgeous forest right at sunset. Surrounded by a few family , friends and the stunning mountains. My second shooter, Heather and I made the the three hour trip to capture their special day.
It was an eventful day from start to finish. On our trip in Heather and I got a flat. We were completely frantic, thinking we were going to be late or not make the wedding at all. We were so thankful when a man from the fire department turned to help change out our tire. The good news, we made it to the elopement location with thirty extra minutes to spare.
When we arrived, we could easily see the love between Hanna and Ryan. The excitement and nerves were in full swing. This elopement was extra special, because the dress that Hanna was wearing was the same exact dress her aunt wore 19 years prior to the date. It was a no brainer that we had to capture her aunt helping her put her dress on. Just in the next room over, Ryan was getting ready with the help of his mom and sister. He was anxiously waiting to see his bride.
We traveled the winding road to the top of the overlook that you can see both Kentucky and Virginia state lines. Beautiful mountain top views with a gorgeous sun beaming down, their closest family and friends gathered for these two to tie the knot. After they said their I do's, we headed back to an area for the reception and shortly after Ryan and Hanna were sent off as newlyweds.
